The ³Õºº¾ãÀÖ²¿ Awards (BBNZ Awards) celebrate basketball in Aotearoa and acknowledge members of our basketball community who have given tirelessly to the sport.
For 2025, the BBNZ Awards will be celebrated in a variety of ways that best suit the particular award.
2025 BBNZ Awards
Tier 1 and 2 Awards: TheseÌýtop level awards will be presented and celebrated in Hamilton at the AGM mix and mingle, followed by recognition at the Trans-Tasman Throwdown later in the day.
Tier 3 and 4 Awards: A plan for the delivery of these awards is being worked on and will be updated soon.
About the BBNZ Awards
- The BBNZ Awards acknowledges members of our basketball community who have given tirelessly to the sport.
- The award structure has four tiers:
- Tier 1: Legends
- Tier 2: BBNZ Hall of Fame and exceptional services to basketball awards
- Tier 3: Annual awards for service and those currently involved in the game
- Tier 4: Long Service, Life Membership and Star Award
- The Awards Selection Committee is made up of these NZ Basketball Foundation members: Hilary Carr, Bill Eldred, Paul Stigley, Glenda Taylor and John Macdonald, also Mike Lacey & David Huxford – BBNZ (process and compliance only).
